The Benefits of Waking Up Early

WhenTalking| Becoming an early riser has many benefits. Although not many people are morning persons by choice, some people do decide to make it a lifetime habit.

This puts the early riser at an advantage simply because he or she is willing to develop a difficult yet rewarding habit that can have a profound effect upon their daily success and well-being.

To help you get a better idea of the world of an early riser, listed below are six benefits of making waking up early a daily habit.

1. Increased Productive Time
By developing the habit of waking up early in the morning and becoming an early riser, there are more things that you can get done in a day. This is true even if you start rising just thirty minutes to an hour earlier than you do now.

For instance, let’s say you decide to wake up an hour earlier. If you look at that time over a period of a week, that’s seven hours now available to you that were spent getting “extra” sleep. Imagine what you could do with seven extra hours every week.

The possibilities are now endless. With a few extra hours every week you can work on something you’re passionate about. You can work on achieving a goal that you never really have the time for when you come home from work in the evenings.

2. Positive Mental Attitude
You will find that the earlier you wake up and get a jumpstart on your day, the better your overall attitude will be. You’ll also find that you can better hold that positive mental attitude throughout the rest of the day. It’s a great feeling to have.

Of course, this all depends on what you decide to do once you wake up early. Simply getting out of bed and wasting that precious time won’t do much for your attitude. However, if wasting time is a morning goal of yours, then go right ahead.

Waking up early is one thing, but waking up early with a purpose can really keep you motivated for the rest of your day.

By developing a habit of waking up with a purpose and cultivating gratitude for another day, every day, you’ll begin to see a positive shift in your attitudes. A clear purpose and daily gratitude during the morning is essential for developing a positive mental attitude.

3. More Quality Rest
As you learn to wake up at a fixed time every morning, you may end up going to bed earlier since your body will begin to adapt to your new schedule. This shouldn’t be a problem for most people, especially since it’s easy for that late night time to be spent wastefully on unproductive activities.

Because of the body’s adaptation, you may find that you have more quality night rests than you’ve had before. This may not apply for everyone, but for some people, the earlier they get to bed the more restful they are in the morning.

As the evenings progress, your body will clearly indicate when it is ready for rest. This kind of adaptation is set in place so that you can get all of the necessary requirements for a goodnight’s rest, while adopting a new wake-up routine.

4. Increased Confidence
An added bonus to waking up early may include an increase in your self-confidence. You may notice that the earlier you wake up the more prepared and ready you are to engage the day.

This is an extra boost for your own sense of self-confidence and self-reliance that arises from developing the habit of getting out of bed and being more productive early and throughout the day.

Also, by being more prepared each day, you’ll develop a sense of self-
assuredness for being able to tackle any problem that may come your way. This is a product of being a lot more focused and having a greater sense of purpose and well-being during the day.

There is a certain sense of accomplishment and satisfaction that comes when you know that you’ve risen earlier than most people and got a lot more done.

5. Quietude
There’s not much going on in the morning compared to the rest of the day. There are probably three times more night owls then there are early birds. This is great for those that love the stillness that the morning brings, as it’s one of the most calming things you can ever experience.

In that peace and quiet of the early morning when everyone else around you is still snoring away, you can meditate, read, pray, do yoga, visualize your goals, or some other activity that quiets your mind and body and inspires you.

It’s almost as if the morning was specifically made for people to get connected with their inner-being before engaging the outside world.

6. Early Bird Benefits
By becoming an early bird you not only have the benefits of enjoying what the morning hours have to offer, but you also get to enjoy the first fruits that the day has to offer.

For instance, you now have the opportunity to beat the traffic on your way to work. This can greatly reduce your stress levels and help you to perform better on your job or in your company.

Another benefit is breakfast. And this is a benefit because some people wake up so late that they must either enjoy a low-quality meal or simply skip breakfast altogether because of the lack of time.

By waking up early, not only can you finally enjoy your breakfast but you can also enjoy one that is hearty and nutritional. This morning fuel has the potential to keep you energized and focused towards having a productive day.
